Now more than ever India is among the world’s emerging markets, poised to become one of the leading sources and recipients of skilled talent to meet the demand of global business growth.
As the world’s 2nd most populous country with the 6th largest economy, India is a highly complex society with vastly different regions and accompanying challenges for adequately supporting and sustaining the stellar pace of growth it is currently experiencing. The country offers a unique combination of advantages – skilled, relatively low cost of labor with a high level of English fluency relative to other emerging market countries.
With the government improving the ease of doing business in the country through the implementation of tax and regulatory reforms, India is perfectly positioned to compete for the world’s best talent. Moreover, recent economic reforms such as the rollout of GST, lowering of regulatory restrictions, ease of obtaining a visa, improvements in infrastructure, and the simplification of company registration procedures have paved the way to increased mobility in and out of India.
Our Advisory Services Group recently embarked on our research project, Propelling Mobility in India, interviewing key stakeholders and mobility professionals, through a mobility survey and in person, to find out more about this critical region.
During our survey, we asked mobility professionals – “In your opinion, what is the overall trend for each segment of mobility over the next 3 years?”
And this is what they had to say.
Stay tuned as we roll out more fascinating statistics from our research project and standby for our webinar next month that dives into what mobility professionals are saying. You will also have the chance to hear from our own Practice Leader, Advisory Services, Laura Levenson on her recent experiences traveling to India.
