MORRIS PLAINS, NJ, August 24, 2021 – Weichert Workforce Mobility, one of the world’s leading providers of corporate relocation solutions, was announced as a winner of a Silver Stevie International Business Award® for excellence in Business Technology Solutions for its employee travel compliance and safety tool, Weichert SMARTRIPTM.
The Stevie International Business Awards (IBAs) are the world’s premier business awards, recognizing outstanding achievement in the global workplace.
Standing out from a pool of over 3,700 entries, SMARTRIP was lauded as groundbreaking technology that helps companies manage and mitigate risks associated with relocating employees, remote workers, virtual assignees and business travelers by quickly and easily assessing each trip against the latest tax and visa/immigration requirements and COVID restrictions. This allows employers to protect the welfare of their employees so they can travel and work without the penalties, restrictions and reputational damage that compliance violations can bring.
The judging panel unanimously agreed that SMARTRIP is “well-suited for the current times, solving a pressing problem that will become more critical with the advent of ISO 31030.” They also praised SMARTRIP for “simplifying the complexities of traveler tracking, taxation, and immigration checks under a single umbrella. This is a very useful application and makes a big impact during pandemic times with ever-changing travel regulations and risks.”
The spark of inspiration that evolved into SMARTRIP began as a project that Weichert spearheaded for one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers to help the company better manage its human capital across the globe in the post-COVID landscape. Other clients quickly became interested in the platform and its capabilities.
“Seeing SMARTRIP named a Silver Stevie winner is a tremendous honor and a reflection of our tireless ability to deliver bold solutions and innovative technology, even in a challenging time,” said Janet Markle, Weichert’s Senior Regional Vice President and one of the platform’s architects. “This recognition will drive and inspire us as we continue to addresses concerns that will define the future of talent management and workforce mobility.”
