Why are we talking so much about sustainability right now?
According to Mobility Magazine, 90.5% of senior HR leaders reported that their organizations possess a sustainability strategy approved by top leadership and are prepared to take real action to achieve their goals.
Sustainability – specifically, Environment Social Governance – isn’t just a buzzword but a necessary commitment (and mindset) for any leading organization that hopes to compete in the global marketplace and attract and retain top talent.
The siloed approach just doesn’t make in the present-day world of work. The health and longevity of the planet matter to today’s employees, consumers and clients, so business values and the environment are inextricably linked. Therefore, ensuring that you continually minimize the impact of your products, processes, and services is non-negotiable.
On September 27, we held a webinar to discuss the current state of sustainability initiatives in the global mobility industry. Weichert’s Laura Levenson from our Advisory Services Team and Adam Bowlby from our Supply Chain Team discussed how Weichert Workforce Mobility has embarked on a long-term journey to improve our carbon footprint and – most importantly — measure our progress to keep improving.
A true turning point in our sustainability journey as a company has been our partnership with EcoVadis, starting in 2021. A global leader in corporate sustainability ratings, EcoVadis is also the world’s first and largest collaborative platform for trading partners to share, monitor, and assess sustainability performance. Adam shares how this partnership has allowed us to bring our partner providers along on our journey and work towards the same goals and specific targets.
The discussion concludes with a cameo from Executive Sponsor and SVP Global Supply Chain, Bill Wilson. Bill sheds light on some of the other key tools and collaborators who have helped steer our path to sustainability and offers actionable tips for other organizations looking to level up their mobility strategies.
