MoveMinds: Relocating the Family Guy (or Girl) 07.28.2024 | Laura Levenson

Good partners are truly the foundation of exceptional relocation experiences, and we are grateful to work with the best in the biz to provide specialized expertise, logistical capabilities, and local knowledge to our clients’ mobile talent. Our provider partners’ contributions range from transportation and housing to customs clearance and destination services, ensuring every aspect of a move is handled with utmost precision and care.

The strength of these partnerships has been instrumental in helping us to outshine our largest competitors in consistently achieving top service scores from relocating employees and corporate mobility managers alike. By fostering collaborative relationships built on trust, reliability, and mutual respect, we can leverage their strengths and develop targeted, agile solutions to keep our clients and their customers moving forward in a mobility landscape that is forever in flux.

We’re proud of this synergy, which is why we were keen to tap into the wisdom of our partner providers and understand their unique perspectives on everything from managing mobile talent to overcoming global challenges to the shifting role of the mobility function within the companies we serve.

Our podcast series, MoveMinds, features conversations about the transformative power of talent mobility – for the people who move and the companies who move them. Each episode spotlights an expert from one of our provider partners as they explore a mobility hot topic with a Weichert host.

Introducing Lauren Herring of IMPACT Group

Our Director of Global Supply Chain, Mary DeVeau, hosts our second MoveMinds episode and is joined by the dynamic Lauren Herring, CEO of IMPACT Group. A WBE-global leader in career transitions, IMPACT Group specializes in relocation support, talent development and outplacement services. Highly versed in unlocking career potential, the IMPACT Group’s specialists empower talent with the knowledge, skills and tools they need to succeed.

Founded by Lauren’s mother in 1988, Lauren has been working with the company since 2001 and brings a passion for making a positive difference in the employee experience. In this episode, Lauren shares how the organization supports DEI on many levels through supporting the very diverse needs of transferees and their families.

Transferees these days have diverse needs that a lot of times are not so apparent without diving deeper, so we find medical providers that address the unique needs of each family. This could be an expectant mother getting their care team set up right away. It could be physicians in the new location equipped to support children with sickle cell. It could be finding out where certain hard-to-find ethnic foods might be sold in the new location. It could be any number of very personal, unique needs and where we are helping that individual and that family thrive in the new community.

Lauren emphasizes that supporting the whole relocating family on a holistic level results in a more engaged employee, better productivity, and better retention. It’s timely advice for corporate mobility managers and service providers alike!
